The Place To Mortgage has built its foundation around our community involvement. We continue to give back to our community in many different ways. Throughout the year we run campaigns and volunteer our time to help different charities.
Our biggest contribution of giving back runs the month of December. Rack’d is our 24 days of giving in December, we volunteer our time, donate supplies and try to make everyone’s December a little easier.

Random Acts of Christmas Kindness (RACK’d) Day 22 – Honouring Hospice
This holiday season, as part of our RACK’d (Random Acts of Christmas Kindness) 24 days of Christmas Kindness, we wanted to pay it forward to an organization that has touched our lives in a profound way – the Red Deer Hospice.
For Day 22, we decided to give back to the place that brought comfort, solace, and kindness during such a challenging time. Our gesture is a small token of gratitude for the incredible work the hospice does, making a difference in the lives of families like ours.

Our incredible agents continue their mission to spread kindness during our Random Acts of Christmas Kindness campaign. On this heartwarming day, they organized breakfasts at local restaurants with a twist: each attendee brought $50 or $100 bills to surprise their servers with extra-large tips!

Our agents gave back to their business partners by sending gifts of appreciation to their business partners, showing gratitude for another fantastic year of working together. It’s the season of giving, and we are grateful for the valuable partnerships we have forged with our colleagues in the industry. Together, we are making homeownership dreams a reality for families across the country, and we couldn’t do it without our amazing business partners.

Our amazing agents continue to spread kindness during our Random Acts of Christmas Kindness campaign. On Day 19, they signed up to donate blood, giving the ultimate gift – the gift of life!

We held our annual Christmas Light Extravaganza on December 17th, we began at the Innisfail office and toured the town checking out the festively decorated homes. We have posted the top six homes and the winner will receive a gift basket full of goodies!

Day 16 was all about supporting our local seniors, delivering cards, treats and a whole lot of Christmas cheer!
Random Acts of Christmas Kindness (RACK’d) Day 15 – Teacher Appreciation
We showed our appreciation to our local teachers by delivering some much-needed items such as pens, pencils, kleenex, and most importantly coffee and chocolate!
Random Acts of Christmas Kindness (RACK’d) Day 14 – Toys for Kids
The TPTM Alberta team dropped off gift-wrapped toys they have collected over the last few weeks for the Red Deer Christmas Bureau and other various toy drives.
Our BC team members and their families have also participated in toy drives in their local community!
Random Acts of Christmas Kindness (RACK’d) Day 13 – Adopt a Family
Christmas can be a tough time for many families. Our amazing TPTM team member Shannon Owen has adopted a family, providing them with a Christmas dinner and gifts. The Innisfail office purchased a Christmas dinner for a family in need at our local No Frills.
Random Acts of Christmas Kindness (RACK’d) Day 12 – Children’s Hospital Support
One of our incredible TPTM team members, Shannon Gervais organized a Christmas Gnomes fundraiser in partnership with Devour Custom Baked Goods. Together they raised $100 for The Alberta Children’s Hospital Mental Health Division.
Random Acts of Christmas Kindness (RACK’d) Day 11 – Home for Dinner
Last night we had the privilege of preparing a meal for the guests of the Ronald McDonald House for Day 11 of our RACK’d campaign. We truly enjoy cooking meals at the Ronald McDonald House throughout the year but it always feels extra special to serve a comforting meal to these incredible families during the holidays.

No child should have to go without a warm winter coat. For Day 10, our agents helped to provide coats for kids in need by donating to local coat drives.

Today our amazing team members paid it forward by paying for the people behind them in the drive-thru and at the grocery line. We encourage everyone to do the same if they are able!

Our team members supported their local emergency shelters by delivering donations of much-needed essential supplies like socks, toques, pyjamas, slippers, toothbrushes, and toothpaste.
Random Acts of Christmas Kindness (RACK’d) Day 5 – Lunchbox Love
Several of our team members in Central Alberta spent the morning volunteering for the School Lunch Program provided by The Mustard Seed in Red Deer, by making sandwiches for students who otherwise would not have.

Even our furry friends need a little extra love during the Christmas season! Day 4 of our RACK’d campaign is all about supporting local pet rescues and shelters. Our TPTM team members have been busy delivering pet food and supplies to help support their local shelters and rescues.

Today we are showing appreciation to all the hard-working delivery drivers and postal workers who work tirelessly to bring us all our packages! We have a table full of goodies as a small token of appreciation for their frequent stops here at the Innisfail Office throughout the year. Thank you!

Some of our amazing team members adopted families in need and provided them with essential items and Christmas gifts.
Day 22 – Mustard Seed School Lunch Program
A group of TPTM members volunteered at the Red Deer Mustard Seed helping to prepare lunches for the school lunch program.
Day 21 – Delivering Care Packages To Those In Need
Care packages were delivered in downtown Red Deer full of necessities such as snacks, warm socks, lip chap and toiletries.
Day 20 – Supporting Our Local SPCA
TPTM team members showed some love for our furry friends and supported their local SPCA.
Day 19 – Spread the Love
Today our team has been spreading the love in our communities by shovelling sidewalks and leaving treats out for our local delivery drivers.
Day 18 – Christmas Light Tour
The Innisfail office hosted their annual Christmas Light Extravaganza, a tour of the best dressed holiday homes in Innisfail.
Day 17 – Clothing Drive
Our TPTM team members brought in donations of clothing in to local organizations to distribute to those in need.
Day 16 – Food Bank Drive
On Day 16, we made even more donations to our local food banks!
Day 15 – Stocking for Seniors
Many of our TPTM members donated stocking stuffers for local seniors.
Day 14 – Kettle Bells
For day 14 we supported the Salvation Army kettle bells.
Day 13 – Cooking A Meal At The Ronald McDonald House
A group of our TPTM members prepared and served a meal for the families staying at the Red Deer Ronald McDonald House.
Day 12 – Spreading Christmas Cheer
Today we spread Christmas cheer by hanging candy canes on vehicles.

On Day 11 some of our TPTM team members cooked warm meals for those in need.
Day 10 – Toy Drive
Giving back to the kids in our communities by delivering toys to local charities in our community like Christmas Angels, Firefighters Toy Drive and the Mommas for Mommas Toy Drive.
Day 9 – Christmas Breakfast
A group from our TPTM Alberta office along with our realtor partners and a few groups of our BC TPTM team met for breakfast. This breakfast came with one condition. The price of entry was a brown back, red back or maybe 2. The idea being we would pay the bill with our big bill and leave the remaining as a tip.
Day 8 – Delivering Baking to First Responders
We’re so thankful for all our first responders! On day 8, we delivered baking to some of our local first responders to show our appreciation for all that they do!
Day 7 – Donations to a Woman’s Shelter
We brought much needed items to local women’s shelters in our communities. Women’s shelters are often in need of donations like deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, laundry detergent, feminine hygiene products, dish soap, razors and shaving cream.

Day Five – Teacher Appreciation
Day Five was all about teacher appreciation. Stopping by with delicious baking and elfing the teachers to find out what their most needed items are for the classroom.
Day Four – Children’s Hospital
Mortgage Broker Shannon Gervais teamed up with Devour Custom Baked Goods selling Christmas gnomes to raise money for the Alberta Children’s Hospital – Mental Health Division, raising $105!
Day Three – Food Bank Donations
Today we flooded our local food banks with donation of non-perishable food items to help feed those in need this Christmas.

Day two has been all about showing a little extra love to members of our community by paying for their coffees, groceries and meals.

Sarah and Julie stopped by the Calgary Drop In Centre to deliver gift card to those in need. Many agents handed out gift cards in their own communities as well.

Day 23 Christmas dinner for a local family
We heard some whispers that there was a local family that was in need of a lil extra love this holiday season. For Day 23 of the Random Acts of Christmas Kindness we partnered up with Twila Reberger – Re/max real estate central alberta to deliver their entire Christmas 
. We connected with the school to ensure this family received gifts for all (including the dog), a turkey, a ham, Christmas table decor, gingerbread kit, grocery gift card and so much more! I hope their smiles are giant on Christmas Day and their worries a little bit smaller.
Day 22 Local Food Bank Donation
We had a very successful Food Bank campaign this year. Thank you to Cheri, Lolita & Megan for this amazing delivery, to Friends In Need Food Bank, Food Banks BC . Sarah donated to Toonies for Turkeys to support a local families in need, donations go directly to the Calgary Food Bank. Caitlin helped with a local Cram the Cruiser event the local RCMP do. In one day “Cram the Cruiser” raised $210.00 in Gift Certificates, $1,550.10 cash and 1,043.16lbs of food were donated.
Thank you Renee and everyone else who helped support the food bank in their local community.
Day 21 – Gift card giveaway at the Calgary Drop in Centre

We hope these donations will help keep a few more children warm this winter season.
Day 19 Buying groceries for a stranger
Today Amanda headed to the grocery store to spread kindness and bought other customers grocery items.
For Day 18 of our 24 days of Random Acts of Christmas Kindness we hosted our TPTM virtual Christmas party and our annual 50/50 draw. One winner from each province got to choose their charity of choice to donate to.

Every year we pull out our gift wrapping skills for a good cause, this year we wrapped in support of the Outreach Centre.

Day 6 – Salvation Army Kettle Bells
Salvation Army Kettle Bells, every year we enjoy our time volunteering at the different locations. This year we were at the Bower mall.
For day 5 of RACK’d we began stuffing stockings in partnership with Hope Mission, a local organization working tirelessly to break the cycle of poverty for Red Deer kids! The stockings will brighten Christmas for 22 boys and 34 girls between the ages of 6 & 13 this year.
We will be gratefully accepting additional stocking stuffers up until December 15th, so if you’d like to contribute, there’s still time!!

.As you may know my amazing Operations Manager (and even more amazing friend) Julie has an incredible awesome sister Lisa! Lisa has been battling cancer for a few years now and was recently admitted to hospital. 
She just got home however every day is a struggle health wise for Lisa, who is also a single momma to two.

Day 12 of our 24 days of Christmas Kindness was a cash & supply donation to this amazing organization!! Thankyou so much to Chelsea Burnett for helping organize Day 12! 
Day 11 RACK’D – Sending Senior Love
On day 11 of our The Place To Mortgage Rack’d campaign we wanted to show seniors a little love!! Chelsea’s niece prepared 80 gift boxes for seniors at the Sunshine Lodge in Drumheller. She wanted to make sure each resident got a box, each box contains a homemade scarf that she knit, hand lotion, sanitizer, and some chocolate!
Seniors gifts at London Drugs:). Erin & Amber both made up $100 gift baskets and filled them up with slippers, blankets, treats, magazine’s, etc…
Cheri’s children picked a senior from the giving tree and bought everything off the list at London Drugs.
Jacquelyn is buying gifts for “Sponsor a Senior”, names are pulled from the tree at Jackson’s Pharmacy or Olympik Way in Innisfail.

Day 2 – “Home for Dinner” program at The Ronald McDonald House
One of our favourite ways to volunteer is through the Home for Dinner program. This year, as they aren’t able to have volunteers into the house to cook dinner for their families, they are taking cash donations in order to purchase a meal from a local restaurant every evening.
As part of the annual The Place To Mortgage RACK’D Campaign, we made a cash donation in the amount equivalent to what we would have spent on groceries.

Gifts To Underwriters – We are so great full to work with so many wonderful underwriters. What better season to say thank you than Christmas ?.
Day 22 – 100 Women Who Care
100 Women Who Care – This year we wanted to join a community that supports non-profit and charitable organizations in Red Deer and area. 100 Women Who Care work every day to make our community a better place to live.

Amazing things happen when amazing people gather ?. This morning a group of us met for breakfast under one condition. The price of entry was a brown back or a red back (or 2). The idea being we would then pay the bill and leave the remaining as a tip. ? Well, the universe delivered us the kindest and most deserving waitress and we were able to spread kindness by leaving her over a $800 tip ?. The world is a beautiful place when kindness is spreading. ?

Since their first forensic interview conducted in December 2017, they have nobly supported, protected and advocated for the vulnerable children of our community – giving a voice to a difficult issue that is often silenced.

Day 12 – Mustard Seed
We volunteered at The Mustard Seed on Wednesday where we help prepare supper. We loved learning about how The Mustard Seed is helping supply warm meals, a warm bed, medical care, supplies, support and that someone cares. Thank you to Scott for all of your information and thanks to Amanda S for setting up our time there.

Day 10 – Coats For Kids
?? Thank you to everyone who brought in children’s coats for, coats for kids. We hope these donations will help keep a few more children warm this winter season.
Helping A Family In Need
A week and a half ago a local family had their vehicle stolen from in front of their house. To make matters worse their daughter’s wheelchair was in the back of the vehicle along with their son’s whole hockey bag. Fortunately, the vehicle was found a week later with the wheelchair still in it. Our generous community came together to help replace the hockey equipment. The Place To Mortgage team all donated money towards a new hockey stick, tape, wax, water bottle and a gift card. It really was a wonderful moment when the family come into the office and we were able to put a huge smile on the young boy’s face and tears in mom’s eyes.
Day 9 – Red Deer Hospice
Danelle and Corri delivered a little something special to the Red Deer Hospice Society.
Day 8 – Snow Angeles
As the snow fell over the last few days, we wanted to get out into our community to help our neighbours and seniors clear snow.
Day 7 – The Holiday Train
We enjoy the Christmas Train every year and this year was no exception. We handed out Candy Canes to help make everyone’s day a little sweeter.
Day 6 – Operation Christmas Child
We collected shoebox items for Operation Christmas Child, thanks to Corri for heading this RACK’D Day.
Day 5 – Gift Cards To The Calgary Drop-In Centre & Grinch Tree Fundraiser For The Alberta Children’s Hospital.
Today is one of our favourite RACK’D days, we love having the opportunity to hand out gift cards at The Calgary Drop-In Centre. The day got even sweeter when at a conference in Edmonton that Sarah was attending. She was given a handful of gift cards to hand out at today’s random acts of kindness location. This wonderful human has been following along with our RACK’D campaign and wanted to contribute. We are so grateful that what we are doing here at The Place To Mortgage is spreading. Our random acts of kindness bring so much joy to us, we hope others are feeling the same joy.
Shannon sponsored a “Build Your Own Grinch Tree” fundraiser for The Alberta Children’s hospital, and together they raised $235!! Thank you to those who attended, and those who bought a tree and for all the cash donations.

Day 2 ~ A Grinch Tree Fundraiser In Support Of The Spruce View Ag Society.
Kate hosted a Grinch Tree fundraiser with Petal and Blum Creative in support of the Spruce View Ag Society. The Ag Society manages the Spruce View arena which is used for hockey, figure skating, public skating and equestrian programs such as gymkhana and riding events.

We are always looking for donations of any kind. Jackets, clothes, toys, business wear for women, toiletries, items to keep the less fortunate warm, food bank items and anything else you can think of we will donate. Merry Christmas!! ?
